This is the time of year, as I’m sure many of you can relate, when I do some decluttering: closets, drawers, files, clothes, shoes, you name it. I also target a special poly project folder that holds my key documents, including my weekly calendar, my values written out, declarations for the week, a couple of my latest book summaries, new quotes that energize me, and any helpful items I want to share with clients. As I was decluttering this folder today, I came across a note that I wrote to myself in 2017 (I guess it hasn’t made the declutter cut just yet!), and I thought it worth sharing as a way to start the new year off strong. Here’s what is says:
The Four Bs to success:
Bold
Be bold with your goals! Most people set goals that are way too easy – the greatest successes usually started right outside of your comfort zone.
Belief
Examine the beliefs you have about yourself and others. Are they resourceful? Are they empowering? Are your beliefs limiting your own or another’s performance?
Behavior
Commit to mastery of the leadership practices that most support your vision and goals.
Breakthroughs!
These are the results you get from setting bold goals, adjusting beliefs, and committing to mastery of leadership behaviors.
