What’s Your Energy Level?

LEADERSHIP PRACTICE

Seek to understand the situations that boost or drain your energy by keeping an Energy Log for one week. Write down the instances when your energy levels are especially high or low as well and try to identify the related causes and explanations.

Describe circumstances such as:

  • What were you doing?
  • Where were you?
  • Who were you with?
  • What time of day was it?
  • What were you/had you been eating?
  • What physical activity were you doing?

Notice any patterns? We cannot always avoid the things that drain energy from our lives, but being aware of them informs us of how empty or full our tank may be to prioritize when and how we’ll need to replenish ourselves.
