Newell Eaton’s path to leadership development runs through an unusual place: state government. In his former career as strategic planning director for children & family services he learned firsthand what it means to move large, complex organizations through constant change — and how much depends on the quality of leadership at every level. That work convinced him that developing leaders and teams was among the highest-leverage actions one can do. Since “retiring” he has devoted the past two decades to doing exactly that.
Newell now serves as a catalyst of intentional change with leaders across business, government, and nonprofit sectors — facilitating breakthrough conversations that help people and organizations build trust and flourish. His approach is grounded in the body, helping leaders develop self-awareness and emotional attunement.
“Newell helps leaders create the trust and conditions needed for breakthrough conversations.”
He has particular interests in two areas often underserved by traditional leadership coaching: the challenges of hybrid and distributed teams, and supporting leaders navigating the transition from careers into a meaningful next life chapter.
Newell received his coaching and facilitation training from the Institute for Generative Leadership, The Leadership Circle, Creative Education Foundation, Coaches Rising, and the NLP Center of New York. He received his university training in architectural design, human behavior, communications, and social change from Rensselaer Polytechnic, Russell Sage, and SUNYA.
Outside his professional work, Newell facilitates a Men’s Aging Gracefully group and hosts ongoing community learning gatherings — continuing a lifelong practice of building spaces where connecting conversations and real growth can happen.
