Join this webinar to learn what it means to be a high-performing team. Our dialogue will focus on:

  • Why organizations rarely achieve authentic teamwork
  • What group norms contribute to the most effective teams

To encourage collaboration and inter-dependence, in 2011 we began hosting a Leadership Roundtable group comprised of local business leaders, managers, and executives who shared the same passion for human performance and development. Once a quarter, these groups meet at our office to network and share their successes, challenges, experiences, and ideas for the purpose of learning from one another and widening their perspective.

We are currently facilitating 1 Leadership Roundtable group each quarter and if you, or someone you know might be interested in joining the conversation please reach out to Cathy Gaynor cathy@discoverpls.com for more information or to sign up!

If you are interested in creating a culture of commitment – where communication is crystal clear, and effective requests and promises drive outstanding levels of performance and accountability – then this class is your roadmap.

To start your company on its journey, the class reviews the elements of the integrity model and how they affect your personal, team and business performance:

  • Requirements to making clear requests
  • Understanding and managing your promises
  • How to have a conversation about a frustration
  • Accountability and the positive effects
  • Appreciating the behaviors you are looking to have repeated

Based on the integrity concepts from “Who Will Do What by When?” by Tom Hanson and Birgit Zacher Hanson, this class is your first step in improving your organization’s communication and, ultimately, its productivity!

In partnership with:

“The more we’re able to invest in our future leaders, the more we’ll be able to retain and attract the best of the best. I believe Emergent’s approach and the quality of their programs to be exceptional, our partnership is a perfect fit with the values and mission at M3.” ~ Mary Malone McCarthy, founder and CEO

What makes an Emergent Leader? An Emergent Leader has a clear sense of awareness about who they want to be as a leader and how they choose to make a difference at work, in family, and in the community. They communicate clearly and listen intuitively, and have the courage for “missing conversations.” The Emergent Leader is agile—they recognize styles that are different from their own and can easily adapt to enhance the working relationship. They are energized by change and able to shift priorities fluidly. An Emergent Leader knows that the start of a great team is a vision that unites all members and that is built on the foundation of trust. The Emergent Leader is focused on performance: individually, on teams, and organizationally.

By completing this course, leaders will have:

  • A personalized vision of the characteristics that will lead to leadership greatness and an action plan that identifies the gaps and how to fill them;
  • A strong understanding of the best practices in a) communicating clearly, b) demystifying the real way to listen, and c) achieving confidence in having difficult conversations;
  • The ability to identify others’ working styles and preferences, and how best to work with people who are different from themselves;
  • A strong appreciation for what drives high performing teams, and the knowledge to both strengthen trust within the team and create a vision that unites all members of the team;
  • The skills needed to drive performance: coaching others, managing appropriately to another’s competency and motivation, and using feedback to encourage strong performance in others.

Assessments included in this course: DiSC and Situational Leadership.

SheFORWARD is a mastermind group that focuses on women and leadership. SheFORWARD is an opportunity to learn from one another and to explore how we each define and apply our own leadership vision.

SheFORWARD is being led by PLS’s Certified Coach, Cindy Masingill. Most programs will feature a guest speaker, who is a woman leader in our community. She will share her personal insights, philosophies and experiences on the topic of leadership in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Here are a few highlights from our recent guest speakers:

“I have enjoyed being involved with PLS’s SheFORWARD Events. It is an excellent forum for wormen in business to gather together to share leadership stories and strategies in a relaxed more intimate setting.”

– Tracy Higginbotham, Founder and President, Women TIES

“PLS’s SheFORWARD program provides an amazing opportunity for women to discuss issues of leadership from our point of view. The journey to leadership for women is impacted by gender and it is important to have safe, respectful places to discuss this reality. SheFORWARD is one such place this happens in Central New York. I strongly encourage women leaders to participate in this program.”

– Gwen Webber-McLeod, Founder and President, Gwen, Inc.

If you would like to be considered as a guest speaker, or would like to recommend a women leader for a future program, please email Cindy Masingill at cindy@discoverpls.com.

The majority of SheFORWARD events are held at the PLS Office in Baldwinsville, NY and are offered at no cost for attendees. Please register below to attend this session.

Here they come, the Big Three: holidays, year-end, and goal planning for next year. This time of year we tend to focus on others’ needs, often to the detriment of our own. We sacrifice sleep, exercise, healthy meals, and necessary down time for the do, do, do, go, go, go of the season. Have you started thinking about your goals for next year? Did you get to that bucket list item this year?  Are you still carrying around the 10-20 pounds you swore you’d finally get rid of?  Still double/triple-booking your outlook calendar? Never got to the book you wanted to read?  Forgot a loved one’s birthday (again)?  Can’t quite master the confidence to have an honest conversation?  Now is the time to take charge!  Join our webinar and get an early start on preparing for your best year ever. Here’s what you will accomplish in 60 minutes that will guarantee a strong start Monday January 1, 2018:

  • Four things you can do in less than 30 minutes to plan for your best year ever
  • Let go of three commitments that are getting in the way of your potential
  • Create a clear vision of what you will say yes to and what you will say no to in 2018

To encourage collaboration and inter-dependence, in 2011 we began hosting a Leadership Roundtable group comprised of local business leaders, managers, and executives who shared the same passion for human performance and development.
